The Big Sibling Promotion

Mariah Stevens is a Certified Child Life Specialist and the Co-CEO of GUIDE, LLC. She has a Bachelors in Counseling Psychology & Masters in Child Life and Family Studies from Wheelock College in Boston. She has been a Certified Child Life Specialist since 2015. She worked in a home care environment to support children with complex medical needs before sifting to working in an intensive care environment in a Boston area hospital and opening their private practice in 2021.

Megan Gallucci is a Certified Child Life Specialist and the other Co-CEO of GUIDE, LLC. She received a Bachelors of Science in Human Growth and Development and Family Studies from Wheelock College in Boston, MA. Since graduation, she has worked at a pediatric hospital in Boston for over 10 years, both in the inpatient and intensive care environments. After seeing all that families face while in the hospital, it was clear that there was a need for individualized support outside of the hospital walls - this idea created their private practice, GUIDE, LLC.

Together, they will be sharing important tools and guidance in supporting older siblings when welcoming a new baby into the family. They will discuss their role as a Child Life Specialist, developmental stages and understanding, preparing for a new baby, separation and attachment, new baby introduction, and special considerations such as NICU admission, regressions, and the unpredictability of labor and delivery.
